It was evening all day long.
I mean, dismal gray all day long.
It threatened to snow.
but never made good on the threat.
All the houses and cars
wore a salted shade of dirty.
Corner bars were packed.
Angels in Milwaukee, hallucinatory.
Reason’s guard asleep in the sentry box.
Mistletoe abundantly hung from hanging lights.
