Red Glare

A new telescope rockets into the sky.
Hubbel’s magnification suffers in comparison.

Your birding scope
is good enough to view the moon.

I have no need to see a planet
wobble the light of a distant star.

From the New Mexico desert floor
we watch tourists skyrocket for a quick orbit.

They land and claim they are changed
by looking from on high.
