Paul brought artifacts home from the desert.
He claimed the desert gave the artifacts to him.
He washed them in the kitchen sink
with a tenderness Lori never experienced.
Paul possessed pottery shards, spear points
arrow heads, musket stocks and bone.
He enjoyed how they made history tangible.
A past you could examine and admire.
Paul measured and documented each piece.
If ownership was determined, he returned the item.
Lori prized the hours of solitude his avocation gave her
as her poetry filled binder after binder.
