Watching The Northern Lights

Paul opens his skull with his hands
to give his brain a fresh breath of air.

Clinically, this is impossible
but the creative side thinks it up.

Even if you insist physics be obeyed
he stands firm on his right to make the attempt.

After four minutes, which feel like four years
Paul closes his skull back over his brain.

Seamlessly. Like it never happened.
Not a single hair out of place.
